Kerry Katona revealed she almost pulled her daughter Heidi from The Voice Kids auditions after she got really upset backstage.
The former pop star appeared alongside her daughter on Friday’s Loose Women where they both spoke about how anxious Heidi felt just before her performance.
‘It was really exciting but I was really nervous to do it because I have separation anxiety with my mum and just general anxiety I was feeling that day I guess,’ Heidi began.
To which Kerry continued: ‘It was when we were backstage, she was really excited about the whole day.
‘Then they came up and were like, “Right Heidi, it’s your turn now”.
‘And she just burst into tears and I went “Agh!” I was like, “Heidi, if it’s going to upset you this much let’s go home baby girl”.’
But luckily, Heidi plucked up the courage to go on to the stage where she belted out an incredible rendition of Macy Gray’s I Try.
‘The next thing I know I’m standing next to Emma and she walks out and her nose is red and her eyes are red,’ Kerry added.
‘I had a tissue in my hand and I was like, “Go on girl”.’
After showcasing her impressive vocal ability, Paloma Faith eventually nabbed the budding singer for her team while Kerry sobbed backstage.
It wasn’t just Kerry who was overcome with emotion following Heidi’s audition though, as viewers were just as teary-eyed.
The Voice Kids returns on Saturday at 7.25pm on ITV.
